Ian R. Greensides
opened his law practice in 2006 and has worked in the legal field since 1992.
His practice areas include appeals, business litigation, civil litigation, contested estates and trusts, conservatorships, guardianships, and real estate.
He also provides legal advocacy services for disability and special education.
He has actively successfully defended and prosecuted several cases to trial, including several successful appeals.
Ian is also a trained mediator and is listed as a court appointed mediator for the Contra Costa and Solano Courts, offering an evaluative approach. Ian has also been trained as a community mediator, using a facilitative mediation approach.
Ian has an optimistic outlook, but as your attorney, he will provide you with the information to make your decisions based on the law and facts. As your mediator, he will treat you with dignity and respect, and assist both sides in coming to an agreement that both sides can live with.
Before becoming an attorney, Ian worked in financial services, advising individuals regarding investments, insurance, lending, retirement, and college planning. He also taught as an insurance licensing instructor and as an adjunct writing instructor.
After becoming an attorney, Ian worked at the Law Office of Daniel J. Healy, in Solano County. As a result of this association, Ian developed a client base in Solano County and appears regularly in Solano County Courts, as well as Alameda, Contra Costa, and San Francisco Courts.
Ian earned his J.D from John F. Kennedy School of Law, his Masters in Public Administration from California State University East Bay, his B.A. in English from the University of California at Berkeley, and He also attended the College of San Mateo, earning his A.A degree in English.
Ian is active in as a community volunteer. He has served on the Board of Directors for multiple nonprofit organizations including the Campfire USA Golden Empire Council, the Lake Vera Mutual Water Company, Church of the Resurrection, and San Mateo County Council Boy Scouts of America. He has served on the City of Pleasant Hill’s Rehabilitation Loan Committee, and is currently serving as a Commissioner for the City of Pleasant Hill's Schools and Education Advisory Committee. He also founded and directs a nonprofit children's camp, Camp Saint Francis.
Ian is an Eagle Scout, a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow, and a Past-Master Councilor.
Ian lives in Contra Costa County with his wife, four children, and their black Labrador, Bella.
