Successful Defense of "Palimony" or "Lee Marvin" Law Suit with Over $5,000,000 in Assets in Dispute

Ian R. Greensides successfully defended what is often referred to a "palimony" or "Lee Marvin" suit that went to trial.  This is a case where non-marital partners have the right to sue for breach of contract for sharing of assets and incomes, alleging that they had held themselves out as a married couple.

The parties in this case married for 11 months, when one spouse then filed for divorce, to be supported financially for lifetime, and for half of all of the other spouse's assets that had been accumulated over several decades.  This included several parcels of real estate, savings, pension, and retirement accounts.  Ian obtained a defense verdict, and a cost bill against the Plaintiff over $10,000.
